BERMUDA CABLEVISION LAUNCHES NEW CUSTOMER CARE SERVICE
FOR THE HEARING IMPAIRED

(Hamilton, Bermuda - October 08, 2009) - Bermuda CableVision has announced the launch of a new customer service designed to facilitate communications between the company and members of the public who are hearing impaired.

Central to the new service is a dedicated phone line, 296-0034 and the installation of a TeleTYpewriter system that enables CableVision's Customer Care staff to communicate with and assist the hearing impaired. With this system, the conversation is typed rather than spoken and direct communication is possible with anyone who has a similar device. The Bermuda Islands Association of the Deaf (BIAD) offers this equipment for purchase to the hearing impaired and can be contacted via their web site, BIAD@therock.bm.

CableVision began planning for the launch of this new service several months ago, working with the BIAD, who provided the specialised equipment and training. Over the past several weeks, CableVision has been installing and testing the equipment and ensuring that its Customer Care associates are fully prepared to use the new system to help hearing impaired callers.

Says Terry Roberson, General Manager, “With the launch of this new dedicated service, CableVision's Customer Care staff can provide improved assistance to these customers, who may wish to ask questions about our services, inquire about the status of their account, or discuss any other matter of concern. To implement this initiative, we have been working with the BIAD, and we encourage members of the public to get to know this association and the services they provide. We're now looking forward to offering this new dedicated option as part of our ongoing commitment to improving customer service.”

The new service for the hearing impaired will be accessible from Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m to 7:00 p.m and will be manned by CableVision's specially-trained customer care associates.
