BERMUDA CABLEVISION INTRODUCES THE AFRICA CHANNEL

(Hamilton, Bermuda - September 10, 2009) - Bermuda CableVision today announces that it is launching The Africa Channel in Bermuda, making the network available to all its customers on Channel 6, in the Basic Economy Tier. The NBC affiliate WHDH, formerly on channel 6, will stay in the Basic Economy Tier, but will move to Channel 98. 
The Africa Channel is the first mainstream television network that is fully dedicated to showcasing the richness, diversity and beauty of modern Africa and its people.

The Africa Channel features programming that spans numerous genres, including news and information, travel and lifestyle, music, soap operas, talk shows, reality, feature films and special events. Flagship programmes include the travel series Africa Within and Studio 53; reality series Project Fame Africa and All You Need is Love; dramas Generations, Jacob's Cross and Isidingo; the interview series Conversations with Felicia; the weekly news magazine Africa Journal produced by Reuters in Kenya; and the daily music series Africa Music.
Additionally, the network offers a wealth of top-rated African films, as well as special network events such as a 2-hour special covering President Obama's recent visit to Ghana, Akwaaba! Ghana Welcomes The Obamas, a profile of Senegalese-American hip hop and R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer, Akon and exclusive coverage of the Africa Film Festival.
The Africa Channel also features a content-rich web site (www.theafricachannel.com) complete with videos, a music section and even an interactive map of Africa that allows visitors to discover important facts about all 53 countries comprising the continent, with highlights about their history, culture, politics, language and economy. etc.
