CABLEVISION'S BROADBAND LINK NOW AVAILABLE IN SOUTHAMPTON
(Hamilton, Bermuda - November 8th, 2007) - Southampton is the latest parish to be added to the list of areas where Bermuda CableVision's high-speed data service, Broadband Link, is now available. The company has been introducing the service parish-by-parish, moving Eastward from St. George's at the rate of about one parish per month.
Rollin Nathan, sales manager, explains, "We have reached another milestone in the roll-out of Broadband Link, with the service now available to residents of Southampton as of today. Demand for Broadband Link has been growing, and we're already preparing our network to activate the service in Sandys next month."
"Customers who don't want or don't have a fixed phone line are drawn to the service because you can just have a cell phone and still enjoy super-fast Internet. We are also finding that people who have experienced cable Internet in other countries are eager to sign up because they already know about the benefits, including very fast, symmetrical speeds, great for doing just about anything online. Many parents are getting it for the children's school work, and at the same time, the speeds enable all kinds of home entertainment options, from streaming video, to downloading movies, photos and music and sharing them with friends and family."
At $35 a month, Broadband Link allows internet users to take advantage of the high-speed data transmission that CableVision is able to offer over its fibre-based, digital broadband network. The company's 2 MB Broadband Link service is the only symmetrical Internet service available in Bermuda, meaning that it provides equal bandwidth for both uploading and downloading.
"We're dedicated to doing our part to ensure that Bermuda's data services are world-class, and our network is an excellent vehicle for achieving that," says Terry Roberson, general manager, Bermuda CableVision.
Broadband Link is an easy installation for existing CableVision customers. CableVision is also facilitating the process for them by handling the paperwork with the customer's ISP. The service can be ordered through CableVision or any of the Island's participating ISPs: Fort Knox, Logic, NorthRock and Transact.
