HOW TO CONNECT YOUR ANALOGUE EQUIPMENT

For digial equipment, please see Digital Cable Section-->

Your new cable box opens a world of viewing pleasure. It provides a clearer picture, allows you to access Pay-Per-View movies and events as well as new programming options and a variety of customisable features. Please refer to the detailed instructions and diagrams provided with your cable box.

The instructions below are designed to guide you through the set-up of your cable box. Two options are shown: one for connecting your cable box and VCR to your television set and another for connecting your cable box directly to your television set.

You may also need to refer to the instructions provided by the manufacturer of your televison set or VCR. If you require further assistance from CableVision, please contact our customer service representatives at 292-5544.

Connecting your Cable Box and a VCR or DVD

  1. The cable from the wall should be connected to the socket on the back of your cable box marked INPUT.

  2. A cable now needs to be connected to the other socket on the back of the cable box marked OUTPUT. The other end of this cable should be connected to the INPUT or SIGNAL socket on the back of your VCR.

  3. Finally, a jumper cable from the OUTPUT/SIGNAL OUT / TO TV socket on the back of your VCR should run to your Television set.

Connecting your Cable Box directly to your TV Set

    1. The cable from the wall should be connected to the socket on the back of your cable box marked INPUT.
    2. A Jumper cable now needs to be connected to the other socket on the back of the cable box marked OUTPUT. This jumper cable can now be connected to the back of your Television set.

Technical Monitoring Cycle or Computer Refreshing

In less than 20 minutes the system cycles through to refresh and download individual subscription requests. CableVision’s computer contacts each customer’s unit individually to refresh and activate operating data, channel identification, etc. This activity enables the Pay-per-View and electronic upgrade features to be handled directly from CableVision’s centre of operation so subscribers can have their channel subscriptions changed without having to wait for a technician.

If the box displays the message L01

If left unplugged for six days or more, your converter box will revert to 'sleep' mode and will display the message L01. To 'wake' the box, simply plug it back into the cable outlet and leave it for approximately 30 minutes.
