Cable television systems using the advanced technologies that we are deploying require the use of a converter box. CableVision chose the Scientific Atlanta 1850 cable boxes for their many flexible features, and their ability to deliver a range of new services made possible by the overall upgrade of our cable system. The cable boxes are fully UL tested and approved, and meet U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) guidelines. They have been chosen by major cable companies such as Time Warner and Media One. More than 2.2 million of these units are installed in the homes of cable customers across America. Features The Scientific-Atlanta enhanced cable converters give subscribers the flexibility to essentially build a customised home entertainment system. Among the features/functions they enable: • Superior Picture Quality and Reception • Premier Pay-Per-View Events and Movies • Parental Control • Interactive Programme Guide (advance information, channel surfing guide) • Electronic Service Upgrades/Alterations • Enhanced Auto-Clock Recording Feature.
